Annmarie Mauger Wilmeth, Vice President

Annmarie Wilmeth joined The Sheridan Group in 2007, and has provided a wide array of campaign development audit, feasibility study and management services to Oldfields School, The Church of the Redeemer, The Woods Academy, the YMCA of Greater Richmond and the Awwa Research Foundation. She brings more than 15 years experience as a fundraising professional to the firm, having worked in independent school development for more than fifteen years and in the administrative realm of independent schools since 1981.

Her development career began at Browne Academy in Alexandria where she instituted a successful program which included annual and capital campaigns, volunteer and young alumni programs, appropriate communication vehicles to publicize the school’s achievements, and special events. She moved to Capitol Hill Day School where her substantial experience provided the leadership to reorganize and revamp an existing development program resulting in increased Annual Giving, the inception of a major gift program encompassing cultivation and stewardship, and resulting feasibility study to enable the school to embark on its second-ever capital gift effort. Her experience with the Center for Excellence in Education focused primarily on researching opportunities in the corporate and foundation world and writing grant proposals.

Her development expertise includes strategic planning, feasibility studies, capital campaign management, major gift fundraising, annual fund campaigns, alumni recruitment, special events, database management and grant and proposal writing. She has presented at the National Association of Independent Schools/Council of Advancement and Support of Education annual conference, as well as provided educational workshops for the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington.

As a parent of two children who attended non-profit independent schools, Annmarie is well aware of the benefits and challenges facing non-profits today. Ever-growing expenditures necessitate the commitment of trustees and administrators to sharpen fundraising programs to be their best for our organizations and their donors.

Ms. Wilmeth attended Auburn University in Alabama where she majored in Special Education. She resides in Northern Virginia. Her husband passed away on 12/31 after a long illness.
